Single source self‐balanced switched‐capacitor multilevel inverter with reduced number of semiconductors

Recently, the demand for switched-capacitor converters has increased due to use of a low voltage input source. This article aims improve some weak points these inverters, such as high number elements by presenting novel single-source step-up multi-level inverter topology. The proposed consists cell with self-balancing capability. converter uses DC source charge series capacitors stage increase amplitude multiple times voltage. These which work asymmetrical sources can generate high-amplitude AC output level and hence reduce semiconductors leads simplicity structure. Since is using single it be used in renewable energy application. Another aspect this producing negative levels without high-voltage full-bridge reducing components. To verify operation, 9-level prototype simulated MATLAB/Simulink implemented laboratory. simulation test result confirm validity scheme.
